Scattered foxing and wear typical of a 140 year old book. Includes a Burlesque Autobiography, Memoranda (My Late Senatorial Secrataryship. First Romance, Memoranda.) Twain's fictional history of his ancestry with anonymous illustrations satirizing Jay Gould and the Erie Railroad scandal. "A Burlesque Autobiography" = 20 pages, "First Romance and Memoranda" = 184 pages (paginated separately). Canadian company that pirated Twain's work and often published them before US editions. The book is quite scarce, and features a series of short articles/stories by Twain. An extremely rare book and even more uncommon in the Canadian first edition. 204 pages.
