Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1908. FIRST EDITION, thus, first printing (July stated) Relatively good condition overall, former owner gift inscription date 1910, stain on spine, full front cover color pastedown soiled, damp/rust stain on back cover, small hole through fabric on spine cover, loosely bound but most all pages attached (one page separated but in place, first 7 of 15 total illustrations detached but in place) couple of pages with closed tears. Very unusual full page color illustrations by George Kerr (15 of 16 are present here.) First edition, thus – originally issued in 1901, this edition has 3 additional stories and an author's note written for especially for this edition. It had also been newly illustrated with full page captioned color plates by GEORGE KERR. This edition is actually much more scarce and difficult to find than the 1901 version, especially without any childresn marking throughout text and with any of the color illustrations as tthey tended to become detached or were removed over the ensuing 100 plus years since publication. Thus, a copy with complete unmarked text and 15 of the 16 original ful page color illustrations is quite a find. Complete fine condition copies command prices upwards of $1500. Very rare non-Oz Baum edition. 223 pages.
