First Appearance Of Winnie The Pooh
|Publisher||METHUEN & CO. LTD.|
Methuen, 1925. Very early printing, only months after the first appearance, of this the introduction of Winnie the Pooh to the world. FIRST EDITION, twelfth printing “Twelfth Edition” (we have labeled the book as it would be in modern parlance, considered a first edition twelfth printing, the original Pooh books printed few copies and then reprinted every time demand necessitated them to do so. Thus, the publisher identified each new printing as a new “edition” even though the printings were similar in most ways to the first printing which in the case of this book was about a year after the very first appearance.) Very good condition, blue cloth with bright gilt decorations and titles, slight lean. Neat former owner inscription dated "Christmas 1925." The wonderful illustrations of Pooh illustrator Ernest Shepard throughout. Excellent collectible edition and as with all the original Pooh books have proven, a solid investment as well. 100 pages.
