Winnie The Pooh
Methuen, 1927. First edition, first impression. In the original 1st state dust jacket with "169th Thousand" on the rear flap (relating to the advert for When We Were Very Young). Original red cloth covered boards with gilt illustration to boards and gilt titles to spine. Top edge gilt. Pictorial endpapers. In the original first impression dust jacket. Boards are in very good + condition. Mild rubbing to spine tips. Spine very slightly faded. Internally there is a crease to the front endpaper and mild browning to the margin of the half title page. Otherwise the pages are clean and in excellent condition throughout. The dustjacket has internal tape repairs. It appears as though the jacket was previously in 3 or 4 pieces, split at the joints and front fold. The jacket has been put back together using 'invisible tape' on the inside of the joints and the front fold. Chipping/wear with loss to the spine tips, corners and folds. A tiny chip to the top edge of the upper panel. A few light marks. Mild browning to spine. The jacket is now protected in a removable book sleeve. A sought-after first edition, the third book in the author's acclaimed Christopher Robin quartet. 103 pages.
