|Printing||FIFTY NINTH (SEE DESCRIPTION)|
Methuen, 1925 (December) FIRST EDITION, fifty-ninth printing “Fifty-Ninth Edition” (while in modern parlance this would be considered a first edition later printing, the original Pooh books printed few copies and then reprinted every time demand necessitated them to do so. Thus, the publisher identified each new printing as a new “edition” even though the printings were in most cases identical to the very first printing which in the case of this book was about a year after the very first appearance.) Good condition, red covers with gilt titles, overall pages are generally in good condition with some expected wear and tear few with blotches, corners bent and small tears, spine case missing, one page loose but in place, former owner bookplate, slight loosening from spine but still holding tight. E.H. Shepard illustrations including endpages. Very interesting original vintage news clipping / photo attached opposite first page of Milne and his son Christopher Robin "growing up." New glossy facsimile dust jacket makes for wonderful shelf appearance. 100 pages.
