Very Scarce Advance Copy
Rupert Hart-Davis, London, 1955. ADVANCE PROOF COPY, plain brown wrappers with Title label which states "Probable Publication Date - August, 1955". Very scarce advance copy of a classic title in its genre. Very good tightly bound condition. Considering its vintage and the fact that advance copies were not produced to last beyond a reading or two, this would then have to be considered to be in spectacular consition : tightly bound; complete brown wrappers with minimal creases and edge wear and chips, etc., slight foxing on inside covers, small stains here and there perhaps, but again, an advance copy beyond what anyone would imagine. Fascinating adventurious autobiography of Guy Muldoon, an Agricultural Office in Nyasaland (now the Republic of Malawi), and his graphic accounts of hunting marauding Lions, Leopards, Buffalo, Elephants, Hippo, Crocodiles, and Wild Pigs. Illustrated by Ralph Thompson. Very rare item – perhaps no more than 5 copies ever printed, and this many years later would not be unexpected to find this the only copy remaining! 238 pages.
