Illustrated by Shepard. Unusually very nice clean condition. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine and gilt vignette of of Toad, Mole and Ratty on front board (as originally issued). The boards are CLEAN with NO MARKS of note. The spine has darkened a little. There is light wear to the spine extremities with NO CHIPPING & NO SPLITTING of cloth. Gilt is VERY BRIGHT & UNRUBBED. Internally, the book is CLEAN with ORIGINAL & UNSPLIT endpapers. There are only a couple of small light handling marks otherwise the text is lovely. Illustrated many times throughout with timeless Shepard black and white in text illustrations. There is light foxing to textblock edges - NONE IN TEXT. NO LOOSE & NO MISSING leaves. Closed tear to p301 (approx 1.5"). There is a presentation label on the front endpaper. There is NO SCRIBBLING, NO CRAYONING etc. Wonderful Shepard illustrations of Ratty, Toad & Mole.
