Geoffrey Bles Ltd., London, 1956. FIRST EDITION, 2nd impression. (the first impression was published in 1954). Beautifully illustrated by Pauline Baynes. The boards have some bumping to extremities, also occasional light markings/grubbiness. Spine tanned, worn at top and bottom with slight tear. Internally generally clean and tight, with just the odd mark etc. One or two pages slightly loose, though none detached. Remains of sticker on inside page. Note on one page indicates that the book is ex school library, though no signs other than as stated. The book has a slight lean. Overall fairly good condition for a near 50 year old book - certainly highly collectable and likely to prove a good investment. "This ancient story, which takes us right back to the reign of the Hight King Peter, tells how the Boy and the Horse together escaped from the cruel country of Calormen, through the city of Tashbaan, across the desert, into Archenland, over the mountains, and so at last to Narnia itself."
