Blindstamped brown cloth, gilt spine title & design, engraved Brown book boards - some fading on book boards, some fraying chipping and cracking on top and spine. Gold gilt lettering and design on spine. Book is shaken and cocked somewhat. Some staining on upper right hand corner of pages to page 37 but then fades away. Some pencil writing on endpapers. The binding is separate on page 168. 1-168 is pulled to one side, 169 and on is attached to back book boards. The pages are together with original string binding just not attached to the spine cover.
