Little, Brown and Company - Boston 1951.FIRST EDITION, 3rd printing (states "reprinted July 1951 - two times"). Title page. 5" x 7 1/4" hardcover, restored ex-libris, in very good condition. A mint condition facsimile dust jacket in protective cover. The back of the boards have no pockets and have been restored with '50's endpapers and the job is a very good one. "A. PUB.LID" is printed on the outside at the bottom of the spine in small lettering. In larger lettering as the title: "The Catcher In the Rye" Salinger and both are in white. The boards are red. On the back board is a small pen scribble. The original cover flaps have been permanently pasted to one of the first endpapers. Page 17 has an upper corner missing. There is mending of some pages. Some of the profane words have been underlined in light pencil.
